Darrin Patrick clearly articulates a compelling vision of the kind of leader and church we need in the twenty-first century. If you’re currently a church planter, a prospective church planter, a leader in an established church, or even a seasoned pagrick, I highly recommend this book for you churdh your staff. Men like Driscoll and Keller and Patrick continue to add clarity to my thinking in this area.

It’s not that there’s nothing in here for people who are doing church ministry outside of the city, rather this section would be a little limited in scope. This, in retrospect, is obvious from the title: The chapters are not enormous and thus are easy to read in small chunks.

Church plants are needed in all types of different contexts of ministry. The gospel, then, is fundamentally an announcement: ComiXology Thousands of Digital Comics.

There is a lot of really good, helpful, motivating content pagrick this book. Pioneer pastors and the sending congregation get a lot of respect because of the incredible risk they take to further the Gospel. Offering guidance and wisdom from years of experience, Patrick reminds us that ultimately no church will succeed apart from a man with a message who leads a church on a mission.

There are points in time when he quotes others so much that it makes me wonder, “Why don’t I just read Tim Keller’s book instead of this one if you’re just going to quote him all day!?! These are all themes that resonate well with me and after reading it I realize that it is not a how-to manual for the practice of planting churches, but rather a book about what the “Church Planter”, the guy who starts a church, should be However this also proved to be my favorite section out of the three despite some disagreements on non-essential ideas.
